I sometimes see Low resolution with my uploaded photos.
Is that because the photo is too small in height and width or that the resolution is pix/inch too little ?
my photos are at 300px/inch
Ingrid,
The 'px/inch' value is not important. The size of a photo file is measured by the pixel dimensions. The FAQ in Classic 1X recommended uploading full resolution files, but I don't think it's mentioned in the new FAQ. If your photos are for sale, then it's best to upload full resolution. I am not a website design expert, but I have observed that 1X resizes photos to fit the various pages they are to be displayed on. The photos in Member Curation are never larger than 1000 pixels wide. In the Senior Critics section (Discussion Forum), they are 2000 pixels wide, and in the finished galleries of Published and Awarded, they are 2500 pixels wide.
Screen shot of Photoshop's 'Image>Image Size' tool. I hope this helps.
. . . . . Steven T.
@ Steven T. ok, thanks.
have now left my pictures bigger no longer resized like for other media like FB, Instagram, ..... thanks for your feedback, regards Ingrid
Hi Ingrid,
Please upload your photos in the original resolution from camera without upsizing or downsizing, especially if you are selling prints. 1x will automatically resize bigger images for web format.
Good light, Ralf
Hi Ralf,
full size of the photo, I think it is a bit risky, then there is more opportunity for downloads for less fun things (possibly sale by others of the photos, use on media, ....) I sometimes see accounts that do not post photos themselves but Do take your photos as favourites, I find that cruelly bizarre. I halve the size of my photos, don't the curators think it makes any difference? Full size ok if you want to sell I think. Regards Ingrid
Hi Steven,
Thanks for this note, it is particularly helpful for new users (like me)
