Hello everyone,

I shot this image of a flower in my garden, in a bowl of water, and for a greater effect I sprayed some water on it. What do you think about it? 6d mark 2 iso 400

Hello Vlad,

Welcome back to the forum and thank you for sharing this photo of a flower. I am wondering whether you would see this as a macro image or an abstract one. I like the rich colour and the sparkles of light, but as a macro shot I think it would need a sharper focus. It might be more successful as an abstract. In either case, I think some cropping might enhance the photo.

Good light,

Elizabeth

Vlad,

Like Elizabeth said no good macro. You can follow her advice to go for an abstract. The other possibility  is making a new one, because it is in your garden. If you do so, chose like she said a good focus for instance the pistil but sharp. And perhaps it will help to use live view to see your composition better and use more different  POV's. And if you have wifi on your camera, the best way is using your i-fhone, than you can make there the composition. Theo senior critic.
