Thank you for accepting my request for critique.
I have sent this attached photo to the curation, resulting in "Not selected."

I would like to get some advice so that this photo will be published.

The point that I wanted to express is her facial expression: coexistence of the intensity and vulnerability in her eyes.
Maybe it is a cultural difference, she has some kind of intensity, shown especially in her eyes. This intensity comes from the fact that she accepts almost all troubles on her; at the same time, she is always hurt by these troubles.

I want viewers to focus on her eyes and to be affected.

The followings are some information about this image:
Camera: Canon EOS M5
Lens: EF-M15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM
ISO: 3200
29mm
f / 5.0
1/60 sec.

Processing using: Adobe Lightroom

I know that ISO is too high, that is one of my mistakes; I should have used proper lighting.
I will improve this point next time.
(In other image that I Awarded in 1x is also ISO 3200)

I do love the mood of this image, so I want to re-sent this pic and get it published.
Please give me some advice. Thank you.

Hi and welcome and thank you for give us a try - I spent some time just looking at your fine image so I could get a feel of the emotional radiance - I must say I quite like it - Al image that speaks to the viewer in many ways. - I did take your image back into Photoshop just to see up closed. - This is my take on your fine image - As you can see I opened up the shadows 80% but the used the dodge and burn tools to put back the power of mood. I thought the girls hair needed some detail. - Next I used the clone tools and healing tools to try and simplify background to the viewer could enjoy the main show. - This was done on the quick more time better the detail. - Thank you for sharing... I did clone out some spots and specs to help the quality..

Daniel,

Thank you for good advice and try.
I think that your correction is very good - firstly, background is more simple so that viewers can focus on her face/emotion now.

In last curation process of this picture, I saw "composition" as the point of improve; at that time, I could not understand what is wrong about composition of this picture. Now I understand. Maybe it's the simplicity what I should not forget.

Secondly, - I cannot precisely describe, through - I can now clearly see her anxiety, which is what I wanted to express in this picture.

Probably I could not correct as you did (because I have enough skill to archive), however now I understand points by your advice; I would like to correct my picture.

Thank you for your detailed and kind advice & suggestion.

I appreciate also that you read my poor English writing!

Hi,

sometimes i try some filters (presets, LUTs) to get a feeling of possibilities for editing.

In my opinion this filter result for your photo is quite good - but it's a purely

emotional thing for me, that is without any expertise on portraits:

Software: "tonality pro" from macphun - today it's Skylum

Filter: "baby blues"

only <<one click>> (not a big job)

Regards

Ud:o))

Hello, welcome to our forum. Thank you for uploading your image. I personally think that the expression is making one think. Is this women experiencing some kind of a trouble or is she sad or does she have something to fear about and so on. However, the contrast of the image is so much that, the eyes look too dark to connect. This is my personal feeling. So, L advice you to reedit the image by not darkening the pupils so much. I wish you good light. Cicek Kiral...

Hello nikogesaku

Welcome back to the forum, and thank you for sharing your portrait of a woman gazing with us. It certainly fits with the portraits in your portfolio, so I'm surprised that it wasn't selected. I like the mood and the intense expression. My first thought was to give the tones a blue look, but Udo has already suggested this so there is no need for me to repeat that idea. Daniel's edit is excellent too, so I wanted to try something different to give you another option. I have given the image a lighter tone with a delicate feel which I hope may make the dark eyes stand out more. It's alway up to you to decide which suggestions to accept, of course.

Wishing you all the best, Elizabeth

Thank you for all! You are very kind to give me useful advices and re-touches!

Udo,

Thank you for your suggestion.

I think your blue-tone retouch is very nice; it adds some emotion, some saddness to my photo.
Me too, I sometimes blue shading to add sad mood.

Nice suggestion, thank you.

Cicek,

Thank you for advice.

Yes, in real, she has some serious troubles in mental health in real. Not fear.

I always use strong contrast to express some dark mood on my image, but in these days, this method is not always good.

As you mentionned, I should weaken the contrast of this image, and find other way to give moood.

Elizabeth,

Thank you for giving me words and re-touched image.

Yes, I love her intensive eyes and it's my main idea to express.

At this point of view, making her eyes too dark was mistake.

I will try to remove the shadow, that is intentionally added by me.

Thank you for all of you, giving me very kind and useful advice & workouts!

(Also thank you for reading my poor English language writing!  ^_^ )
