My Best Friend II

This is a series of two images I took that I called My Best Freind.  The image was taken in the tall grass in my back yard.  Settings: ISO 4000 F4.0 and 1/1250 shutter.  This was taken at dusk so wanted to have a mix of warm and cool tones.  I wanted to use the shallow depth of field and add nice bokeh in the background.  I was inspired by a few photographers with their use of color and dark processing. Something I didn't intend and loved the result was using a short depth of field allowed only a small number of blades of grass to be in focus.  I dodged the sharp grass to stand out which added to the dreamy look.  The reason why I chose this image was because my dog looked strong and bold. The strong look, the Gaussian blur, the out of focus grass round us, and use of warm and cold tones the image has a soft and strong feel to it.

One of my goals as an amuture photographer is to take 1X quality photos and be featured on the site.  I don't know anyone who I can share the hobby with who may provide feedback.  What a better place to get feedback but on the actual sight I have my target set on. I would love to hear someone's constructive criticism.
